Pekerti celebrated another successful handicraft bazaar at its Jakarta head quarters from 02 to 08 November 2016. The Bazaar provided visitors with the opportunity to purchase high quality handicraft products. Customers were able to browse colourful batiks (traditional Indonesian pattern), beautiful ceramics, boxes, hand-painted windchimes, carved wooden candleholders, weaved rattan, toys, homewares, fashion, accessories, musical instruments, clothing, furniture and many more.
In this bazaar Pekerti also promote its local market place brand, ‘carisouvenir’ (find souvenirs). The products that sold in ‘carisouvenir’ were marked down 10% percent. The bazaar also still open on the weekend to give opportunity to visitior who can’t visit bazaar during work day. Pekerti also provide delivery service for the customer who has no time to come to the bazaar.
Ukrumah Suda, the head of marketing department said the bazaar is one of promoting fair trade activities that held every six month.
Through bazaar we not only introduce local people to the fairtrade products, but also introduce products that have a cultural identity and traditional skills of small artisans from various regions in Indonesia. “We hope in future indonesian people will be more aware of the choice they have to buy fair trade and concern to preserving traditional culture”, she said.
