In mid-October Pekerti had the honor of welcoming a volunteer from Australia, Laura Gilmartin. Laura is a Public Relations (PR) Officer assigned by the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) program to assist Pekerti in creating Public Relations programs and helping staff to implement it. Throughout the coming year she will be involved in PR activities and capacity building for Pekerti staff. Pekerti hopes to gain knowledge and valuable experience in the field of PR through this process, and also hopes to provide Laura with an understanding of how Pekerti assists craftsmen and the values of Indonesian culture.
