Assistance for flood and
landslide in Sumatera
“Our deepest condolences for the floods and landslides that have befallen people in various regions of Sumatra. May the situation improve soon, restore health, and grant the victims strength and fortitude to face this ordeal.
To our brothers and sisters in Meuredu, Pidie Jaya, where we received a warm welcome while working with the Pekerti Foundation, who were also affected by the floods, may God protect and strengthen them”.

“50 tahun berkarya, dari tradisi ke inovasi..”

HUT Pekerti ke-50 tahun!
“50 tahun berkarya, dari tradisi ke inovasi..”
For 50 years of dedication, we have been assisting Indonesian artisans in developing their international market potential. PEKERTI consistently applies fair trade principles to advance the economy of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and preserve the cultural traditions of the archipelago.
In this golden age, we are proud to be part of this extraordinary journey. With renewed enthusiasm and unwavering commitment, we continue to grow.
Pekerti stands for “Development of Indonesian People’s Crafts.” We are a Fair Trade Indonesia supplier and social development organization founded in Jakarta in 1975. Pekerti Foundation was the first Fair Trade member established in Indonesia and one of the first in the world. Our goal is to increase the incomes of subsistence farmers and other poor people living in rural Indonesia through the development and sale of Fair Trade crafts.
Pekerti has experience in undertaking over 30 community development projects. We pay particular attention to the devastation caused by natural disasters, and how we can respond through providing emergency aid and long-term econonomic recovery. Pekerti’s community development team holds expertise in building small and micro enterprises (SMEs). They are able to deliver skills exchange in all aspects of business management, as well as providing micro credit and ongoing support.
Pekerti’s unique three-tiered approach to development in which we provide our beneficiaries with training, access to the international market and a one to two per cent interest loan scheme, ensures our funding is used efficiently and our producers receive the maximum benefit.
